Anotation
The article reflects the concept of mathematical literacy, which is a part of functional literacy. Information about the results of Russian students in mathematical literacy in the PISA study is given. A study was made of the level of mathematical literacy of first-year students of the Omsk State Medical University Medical College, which showed its low level. Educational and research projects were formulated and successfully implemented, which increased the interest of students in the study of mathematics.
