The role of physical culture in preparing students of higher educational institutions for professional activities

This article updates the understanding that, along with the health problems of the younger generation, more and more attention is paid to the professional training of university specialists, in which the student has ample opportunities to prepare for successful implementation. In this regard, there is a need to update and improve the system of physical training based on understanding the meaning, purpose, and objectives of professional activity. At the same time, the system of physical education should create the most favorable conditions for the integrated development of students (spiritual, aesthetic, motor). This article shows the role of physical culture in preparing students for future professional activities, regardless of the chosen specialty. The authors, giving the definition of physical culture, consider it in the context of professional training of a future specialist, highlight its components, means, and results. The goals and objectives implemented in physical education classes related to the training of specialists in the field of economics, law, engineering specialties and other areas of training are outlined. The competences formed by means of physical culture are presented. The levels of formation of manifestation of physical culture of the future specialist are considered. Examples of extracurricular activities in the field of physical culture and sports of the Samara State Technical University are given.
