Anotation
This study is devoted to the analysis of parents' pedagogical culture and its influence on child development. The low level of formation of pedagogical culture is caused by a number of factors: changes in socio-cultural conditions, lack of experience of interaction with siblings, separation from the older generation, different types of families. Lack of knowledge about the regularities of development and upbringing of children leads to errors in family upbringing and, as a consequence, to problems in child development and behaviour. The study emphasises the importance of pedagogical culture as a set of knowledge, skills, abilities, skills, traditions and customs applied in the process of upbringing. The relationship between child rearing and self-development of parents is noted. Family counselling is proposed as a method of improving pedagogical culture. This phenomenon is shown as an actively developing direction of psychological assistance to families experiencing difficulties in relationships. The study examines family counselling in the context of overcoming the problems leading to divorce and the growing number of single-parent families. The basic principles of the family counsellor's work are described, including ethical aspects and compliance with legal norms, as well as the tasks of counselling in various spheres of family relations (marriage, marital relations, child-parent relations). The role of family counselling in restoring family ties and improving both the general and pedagogical culture of parents, which contributes to the full development of the child, is emphasised
