Anotation
This article is devoted to increasing students' motivation to learn a foreign language by creating a comfortable and interesting educational environment that takes into account the individual characteristics of each student. The research is based on the principles of individualisation of learning, value-oriented approach, competence-based approach and active learning methods. The theoretical part of the work analyses the works of J. Piaget, P. Halperin and other researchers who substantiate the effectiveness of active learning as a means of developing cognitive abilities and forming a sustainable motivation for learning. The practical part demonstrates the application of these principles in practice and analyses the results: the effectiveness of active methods of teaching a foreign language in the 7th grade, the focus on the development of oral speech and integration with other subjects. The achievement of the learning objective “oral storytelling” is analysed through various methods (stories by model, by questions, by making a plan). The specifics of applying active methods for each of the four speech skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) are considered, and specific examples of tasks are given. Special attention is paid to the integration with history and geography on the example of the topic “Famous Explorers”, demonstrating the practical value of the language. As an innovative method, the Flipped Classroom is considered, where preliminary work at home (watching videos, listening to audio, working with text) prepares students for productive work in the classroom aimed at practical application of knowledge.
