Musical education of Chinese students in Russia in the XX-XXI centuries: trajectory of professional formation and concert practice

Anotation
This article is devoted to the study of the trajectory of professional formation and concert practice of Chinese students studying in Russia in the XX-XXI centuries. The analysis of this unique experience allows not only tracing the evolution of music education in Russia, but also revealing the peculiarities of intercultural interaction in the sphere of performing arts. The conceptual foundations of the study of contemporary Chinese culture and its integration into the world musical culture are outlined. The paper presents a generalisation of the experience of teaching Chinese students at music universities in Russia and the results of the current concert practice of graduates. The categories of participants in the cultural exchange between China and Russia are specified: sinologists, creative and pedagogical workers, artists, musicians, vocalists, artists, and painters. The article traces the modern experience of teaching Chinese students in musical educational institutions of Russia on the example of educational activities of the Institute of Music, Theatre and Choreography of the Herzen Pedagogical University of Russia. The stage (competition) achievements of graduates of the Department of Music Education and Training are characterised. The article analyses the success of Chinese students in Russian music education, proven by an extensive list of international awards and achievements. The study shows how innovative approaches to intercultural communication reveal the pedagogical potential of music education. Examples of study programmes including a wide range of repertoire, interviews, colloquia and stage practice are given. Participation in competitions at various levels (from student to international) is seen as an important stage of professional development and a path to a successful career.
